I've been busy doing storyboards lately I barely had some time to do some sketches in a new Kaiserin Sisi sketchbook I brought from a trip to Vienna. By the way I managed to visit the Albertina museum to see some great 20th century art, among which there was Picasso and Munch.

It seems that I haven't posted here for ages. Lets restart this blog with some spitpaints.
Recently I did some animation postproduction, but decided that I'd rather go back to painting.
Now I'm back home. I miss the team I worked with for past two months.
To get myself into a regime of painting daily I picked up a challenge of doing spitpaints.
Here are the two first ones. One is called a horned child and the other balloon head.

I've started doing some research on the business side of art freelancing.
Generally I feel that there is little of conversation among the artists about the fees. This probably is due to the saying that gentlemen don't talk about money." However, sometimes it's hard to pinpoint the fair fees, because of different "sizes" of clients.

I want to keep my findings over here, along, with my sketches.

I've done a bunch of commissions so it's time for some fun.
Yesterday I finished painting my Loki painting, so today to chill a bit I wanted to sketch some characters from Vikings show.

A friend of mine hired me to paint an illustration for an article on Slavic warcraft. So I'll be painting a big skirmish in the woods.
There are some thumbs here.

Recently, we've had a conversation about one of my paintings I did at uni.

Bartosz gave me some very interesting and educational clues about swords and how you grip them.
In the above image I painted the fuller ending before the hilt. In reality fullers always go under the hilt.
Below, there are drawings of proper sword grips taken from facebook site of Dimicator.

Happy new year, folks there's been some things going on over here.

Firstly I'd like to share my work I've done for Accursed RPG

Bigger sizes are over in my gallery on Deviant art http://sarmati.deviantart.com/gallery/

Now lets get back to my viking obsession. My piece won a first place at a Yule contest at http://www.norsemyth.org/2013/12/art-contest-adult-entries-midwinter-2013.html
So that's a nice yule gift for me.

Did you know that I had a cthulhuesque dream some time ago?

Also I haven't forgotten to sketch out a scene from it
It's kind of like... "Hello sir have you got your reservation? Oh yeah it's here. Welcome to the sacrifice sir, have a good time. Here is your sacrificial dagger and a name badge."

Also I've painted a commission for an internet buddy Ragir of Silizard ; ) It's a kid, a very angry kid with a broken sharp bottle, and a gun... a water gun he's probably filling up with someones blood.
